The Tony Quinn Foundation was established in 2021 with the goal of supporting young Kiwi’s with the talent and determination to make it on the world stage. 

One of our grants is the Triple Eight V8 Supercars Test - Trustees Choice. Trustees from the Tony Quinn Foundation offer the amazing opportunity to any driver in the Toyota 86 championship to secure a test drive with V8 Supercars team Triple Eight Racing. 

The trustees picked Brock Gilchrist days before he secured the Toyota 86 Championship at Hampton Downs in May. It was previously won by Rowan Shepherd in 2022. 

A few weeks ago Brock headed over to Australia for his trip of a lifetime!

Brock’s time in Australia started in Townsville to watch Supercars with the Triple Eight Racing team.

Before his test drive, Brock spent one-one-one time with their V8 Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen at Norwell Motorplex. Followed by a workshop tour and meeting the team at Triple Eight to learn about the behind-the-scenes racing environment.

Then the day came for the money can’t buy experience, the rare opportunity to test drive the Ampol Red Bull racing Gen 3 Camaro Supercar at Queensland Raceway. Very cool for Kiwis to have this opportunity in Australia.

While in Queensland, Brock also enjoyed social time with Tony Quinn.
